A slot's artwork does not tell you how its symbols form a win. Start with the evaluation method on the help screen.

Fixed lines

Big Bass Bonanza evaluates ordinary combinations along defined lines. Its cash-fish collection is a separate feature inside free spins. Seeing a cash value on a fish is therefore different from completing an ordinary line combination.

Ways

4 Fantastic Fish uses its cash-fish ways mechanic and a respin collection feature. Ways describe qualifying symbol positions across reels; they are not a promise that every visible symbol pays. The shark and squid features need to be read alongside that evaluation method.

Clusters

Sugar Rush evaluates connected matching symbols on a grid. Winning symbols disappear, replacements fall in, and marked positions can develop multipliers. A payline diagram from Big Bass is unsuitable for this format.

When comparing slots, separate the base win rule, replacement or respin behaviour, and bonus entry condition. A familiar theme or the same provider can appear in games with different rules.
